About This Site

This site is centered around ministering to Born-Again Believers with uplifting thoughts from Scripture through sound doctrine. The words, “sound doctrine,” are mentioned 4 times in Scripture, all of which are located in the 3 pastoral epistles. Paul wrote these particular epistles to individual pastors to encourage them and to pass on the duty of ministering to God’s people of the next generation. With this is mind, Born-Again Believers can read these 3 epistles as an encouragement from God to fight the good fight in the ministry and to know how to better minister to others.

The title of this site is “Sound Doctrine for Today.” The fact is that sound doctrine hasn’t changed since it was first given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit. But another fact is that each generation has a damnation awaiting them, a dire need for salvation, and a calling to proclaim the news of this salvation. Many false gospels are available which cause many to fall. But sound doctrine remains. With this in mind, SoundDoctrine4Today aims to share sound doctrine which is just as applicable to this generation as it was to the first Christians.

Paul writes 4 things about “sound doctrine”:

1) Those who contradict sound doctrine are still in bondage to the law – I Timothy 1:1-11

2) The time will come when people will not endure sound doctrine – II Timothy 4:1-4

3) One must hold fast to Scripture to be able to exhort and convince by sound doctrine – Titus 1:9

4) It is the duty of Born-Again Believers to speak sound doctrine – Titus 2:1

About the Author

Luke Duncan was saved at the age of 7 during a testimony meeting. As he heard others tell of how Jesus loved them and saved them, he was convicted of his sinful condition and the consequence of eternal hell. He thus accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of his life. At the age of 17, he surrendered to the call to preach. Luke has a passion for the preaching and teaching of sound Bible doctrine. Luke is also a mathematician and works in the field of mathematics education research. As a mathematician, he appreciates sound truth, but as a born-again believer, he glories in the fact that even when man’s logic fails, the infallible Word of God still stands firm. He enjoys drawing attention to the handiwork of God, displaying the precision, order, wisdom, and creativity of the Creator. Luke is now serving as pastor at Parkwood Baptist Church in Greenville, SC.
